" ...to provide for the common defense " is a Constitutional requirement. This means providing the necessary military, intelligence and law enforcement capability to protect the United States from enemies both foreign and domestic. It also means legislating law and enacting policy to achieve sovereign self-sufficiency for the United States in its national socio-economic environment.
All care must be given to protect liberty in the pursuit of national security. America is currently failing in this care. The delicate balance has been tilted towards suppression of liberty. Remember the warnings of our founders...
" They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. "
- Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759 -
The mantra, " If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear, " is a bayonet hidden by a lady's silk scarf. Ask East Germans what they think of the mantra.
We have eyes and memories. We know where the unbridled power of the state leads. We remember the Soviet Union and East Germany. We now know through examination of East German state records that nothing was hidden from the state. So why were its citizens willing to expose themselves to barbed-wire, vicious dogs and a hail of bullets to scale the Berlin Wall to freedom's other side, if they had nothing to fear?
In the pursuit of phantoms of government provided security, American liberty is in jeopardy.
The National Security State has become a national security threat to the free people of the United States of America and represents a clear and present danger to the U.S. Constitution.
